Trivets & Coasters - Painted Tiles

TRIVETS, COASTERS / TILES - Each ceramic tile I make is a piece of functional art. The design is individually hand painted with ceramic tile paint and glazed with gloss varnish for a lovely look and to protect the design. These can be used as a trivet, or coaster, but also looks great in a decorative stand on a counter, shelf, cupboard, etc. If you do not wish to put it in your kitchen, you could use it in a bathroom, or any room - use as a candle holder, or under a potted plant. Every piece is a one of a kind. Designs may be produced in a similar pattern, but no two will ever be exactly alike, because quite frankly, repetition is boring and I like to keep doing different things.

A trivet, by the way is an object placed between a serving dish or bowl, and a dining table, usually to protect the table from heat or other damage. A coaster is an object used to rest beverage glasses upon, for the same reason - to protect the table underneath.
