Meet Valerie...

Growing up in the middle of the woods of Southern Louisiana I spent a lot of time entertaining myself with crafts of all sorts.

Both my parents were artists of the bohemian style.  I admit that I have both craft ADD and OCD, which means I flit back and forth between crafts but obsess over whichever project I'm working on at the time. 

I am NOT a crazy cat lady because I'm married, although I do have 10 cats. I am NOT a fabric hoarder.  I am a fabric collector because I can let some of my collection go as I get more, although I did have to have a carpenter add extra floor joists below my craft room due to the weight of all my fabric causing the floor to sag. 

I have tried my hand at making jewelry, masks, furniture, stationary, scrapbook pages, Christmas ornaments, stage and photography props, miniatures, ceramics, and toys.  Sewing is the craft I love the most. 

I sew clothes, costumes, purses, curtains, hats, gloves, and coats.  In fact, I can not remember a time in my life before I learned to sew.  I began by hand-sewing clothes for my cats as a child.  I can't say they loved it, but it started a lifelong passion for me.
